#BTC46 #BlindDrams Tasting Notes

These are my tasting notes and results from the Blind Tasting Consortium's 46th #BlindDrams evening.

These drams were picked by me @MaltMusings
This was our first tasting after the passing of one of our members Kate Renton, we all raised a dram of her favourite Glen Scotia.

My theme was Cracking Rocks

Dram 1

Appearance: pale gold in the glass, swirls cling as a thin line, bead up immediately and fall as slow thin legs.

Nose: vanilla, tropical fruit, citrus, a little dunnage funk. There's some salinity here, I was expecting smoke but there isn't any.

Palate: thick sweet arrival, honey, tropical fruit and citrus like the nose. Lots of pineapple, mango, lemon peel and a big kick of cinnamon spice.

Finish: lingering salted lemons, dried pineapple and spicy cinnamon.
I like this, not tried it before, lovely starter I'll give it a 3

Dram 2

Appearance: mid gold in the glass, swirls cling as a thin line, bead up slowly and fall as slow thin oily legs.

Nose: slightly floral, citrus and some meaty hints. There's some icing sugar, a little damp grass and some oak.

Palate: thick oily arrival, lots of oak, citrus and spice. There's a little soapy note, pine needles and  a dry icing sugar note. There's some tropical fruit and a little dry spice.

Finish:  lingering dry smoke, citrus, salinity and spice. I like this, another 3 from me!

Dram 3

Appearance: pale gold in the glass, swirls cling as a thin line , take a while to bead up and eventually fall as slow thin oily legs.

Nose: honey and distant smoke, there's a little salinity and some berry hints. Rum & Raisin ice cream, chalk, marzipan and some apples.

Palate: thick salty arrival, some tropical sweetness, a little citrus and a bite of peppery spice. Very dry, a little nutty and a little milk chocolate. Liking this!

Finish: sweet and salty, gentle smoke and peppery spice, Yummy!
Scores a 4 from me - need a bottle of this!

Dram 4

Dram 5
