BlindTastingOnTour : Glen Scotia

So where do you go for lunch in Campbeltown when you're between distillery visits and what do you have to eat? You've got whisky in your belly and know there's more to come later...

BlindTastingOnTour : Springbank

Tuesday morning arrived all to quickly and brought a few sore heads, memories of an empty Cage and the damp weather didn't improve the situation.

The second annual #BlindTastingOnTour started with a 4.15am alarm clock, a 4.30am taxi and a 4.55am train from home to Carnforth to meet up with the rest of the gang who drove up from further south.

BlindTastingOnTour : Clydeside Distillery

Again some of these photos were taken by John, Alistair, Andy or Max!

Whilst in Glasgow the other week visiting the Loch Lomond distillery we also took the opportunity to visit the Clydeside Distillery which was just a short walk from our hotel. This was a completely different visit from the previous day where we were invited guests, this time we just turned up as ordinary punters and paid for the tour.

BlindTastingOnTour : Loch Lomond Distillery

Where do I start? The history? The people? The Whiskies? Our visit? All are interesting and or brilliant - I'll try to mash them all in together!

Please note : all the great photos below are from John or Mike, the not so good ones and the words are all my own work!

I've tried a few Loch Lomond drams' in my time and bought a few bottles, some have been great - some have been good, one has been poor. It's a large complicated range that they make at their large industrial complex in Alexandria, just north of Glasgow.

Distillery Visit - Arran

I visited the Arran distillery in April '18, this was my first time!

Arran is just outside Lochranza at the northern end of the Isle Of Arran, you'll need to catch a ferry to get there, which is exactly what we did from Claonaig on Kintyre.
