Bowmore @TweetTastings

@TweetTastings seem to be coming along at 2 a month at the moment but every now and again there's something just that extra bit special....

@TheWhiskyWire teamed up @Bowmore to reveal their #BowmoreTimeless collection and I was lucky enough to be chosen...

Here's some thoughts from me and some of my friends who took part!

Batches : Glen Scotia Victoriana

Distilleries often release whisky in batches, the same name but subtly different recipes, ABVs, maturation periods etc. In this occasional series I'm going to review a number of different Batches in my Side-by-side format to see if I can detect any differences, does each batch get better or are they to all intents and purposes the same?

This time I'll be reviewing batches 1,2 and 3 of Victoriana from @GlenScotiaMalts distillery, what differences are there?

Side by side : A Glencadam flight

A small Highland distillery who's stock was traditionally used by blenders found a new lease of life with a new owner and is now releasing a wide range of aged statemented whiskies.

Let try some!

World Problem Polls (#DingleDilemma)

Once upon a time there was a small distillery in Speyside distilling some lovely whisky which went by the same Glen Moray. In 2019 their Master Distiller decided he was working too hard and needed a change.... he retired to the west coast of Ireland.

His equally hard working wife took the job of Master Distiller at a nearby distillery by the name of Dingle.

Whisky 'machinery' - the Malt Mill

A new series looking at some of the 'machinery' used in a distillery to create whisky - this time the Malt Mill.

Glen Moray's Porteus Malt Mill

I've covered the basic process of creating whisky here, but I'm going to explore the machinery a little more in this series.

Side by side : A Dalwhinnie flight

Dalwhinnie, like some of it's sister distilleries, doesn't seem to get mentioned very much in Social Media or blogs - maybe because Diageo haven't created social media accounts or even the distillery's own website - it's just a small part of the drinks giant's mega malts.com website. Although there is a US website.

Let's find out a little more...

Side by side : A Bunnahabhain distillery exclusive flight

For this side by side I've gone back to Islay's most northern distillery Bunnahabhain, picking four distillery exclusive cask strength drams showing the breadth of their output.

Let's see what they are like.
