Side by side: 5 from Tobermory via Paul

The Isle of Mull is home to a couple of distilleries now, the oldest being @TobDistillery, a favourite of @pswhisky

Paul shared with us a set of 3 unpeated and 2 peated Ledaig bottlings.

A Claxton's flight

I'm sure everyone knows @ClaxtonsSpirits an indie bottler who's bottles really mess up the spacing on your whisky shelves!

Their unusual square bottles really standout but they take up a lot of shelf space!

Chorlton Whisky - Four Peat Monsters

One of the smaller indie bottlers @ChorltonWhisky have released over 60 bottles each with a unique medieval style label.

Here I'm trying four of their peated bottlings:

Side by side: Na Bràithrean (brothers) from Ledaig

Na Bràithrean [na brah-rin] means “the brothers” in Scottish Gaelic. These indie bottlers pick a cask, give each a different finish and release the pair as Wee Brother and Big Brother.

Let's try a pair!

Side by side: Three 1st Fill Oloroso from The Whisky Barrel

1st Fill Oloroso is a favourite of mine, add some peat and it's a match made in heaven! @WhiskyBarrel have released a number of bottles in their Originals range which have been matured in 1st Fill Oloroso, one of which is peated!

Let's try some!

Side by side : A Ledaig flight

The only distillery on the Island of Mull, Tobermory, produces both unpeated and peated whisky. The peated now goes under the name Ledaig.

Sometimes knows as 'dirty whisky' - here I'll try five different bottlings.

Virtual tasting: A.D. Rattray with Inverurie Whisky Shop

Due to the Corona virus a lot of companies have moved their tastings online - using Zoom or similar video conferencing systems. This has actually opened their market as they can attract customers from all over the world.

One such company is the Inverurie Whisky Shop, a small shop in the town of Inverurie - great if you live near Aberdeen, but not too much use to those of us living in England or elsewhere.

Side by side: Ledaig from Mull & Glasgow?

Looking at three different drams from the peated Ledaig range, one from @DouglasMcgibbon and two from @TobDistillery, the 9yo, 10yo and 18yo - what differences are there?

Claxton's @TweetTastings

I was lucky to be picked for a @TweetTasting with drams supplied by Claxton's an indie bottler from North Yorkshire. Previously I'd only tried one dram from them, which was pretty good, and was interested to see what else they put in their usually square bottles!
