Mini-review: Arran Double Seven Eight?

This was a blind sample from @Maltman_Mike which turned out be an Arran Single Cask.

In the glass: pale gold, gravity defying swirls (sign of high ABV?) initial nose vanilla.

Nose: lovely oaky vanilla notes with delicate hints of  strawberry and milk chocolate.

Palate: Definitely a high ABV - but not burning - milk chocolate and vanilla from the nose flow over the tongue, there's some fruit (pears, apples?) dancing around too.

Now I'm sure Arran has more telephone numbers and they take more than 3 digits but Double Seven Eight is actually the cask number that this delicious dram was taken from! This was a 57.8% 16yo single bourbon cask - yummy!
