This year's
@KendalWhisky Festival has been
one of my favourites, great to meet up with old friends and make some new
ones!
Kendal is a beautiful small town on the edge of the Lake District within easy
reach of the M6 Motorway and West Coast Mainline at Oxenholme.
Phil Walker @Philnewunion from the New Union Pub and Dave Pennington
@Kendalskintcake from
Pennington's Coffee have organised a whisky festival for the last 3 years, each one getting better and better!
The festival is held over two floors of the Town Hall - a beautiful building in the heart of the town!
This year there were reps from over 30 distilleries and independent bottlers
Hundreds of Glencairns were given out to the attendees over the 3 four hour sessions.
Some of the stands:
I even got a chance of 5 mins behind a stand covering for a toilet break!
Some of the friends I met!
Then it was time to pack up for another year...
and trudge through the snow to The New Union for a couple of pints...
And some dancing...
The spreadsheet suggests I tried 34 different drams of which 30 were ones I'd not tried before!
Here's to next year's festival!
