BlindTastingOnTour : Springbank

Tuesday morning arrived all to quickly and brought a few sore heads, memories of an empty Cage and the damp weather didn't improve the situation.

But a bacon and egg butty from Chef John did wonders!

A team photo sporting our new t-shirts and re were ready for the day!

We walked through a very damp Campbeltown back to the Springbank Distillery

Although Alistair and I got some unwanted attention from the local constabulary...

The Swedes hadn't turned up but a lovely couple from Holland were there!

First stop was the Malt Barns with a floor of germinating barley ready for the first Kilkerran mash of the year.

Empty stills until the new year.

We then went down to the Filling Store, lots of tools of the trade!

Next was Dunnage Warehouse No. 3

Yet another team photo!

And the odd bung to sniff.....

And finally back to the shop for a dram of the standard bottlings.

With a little time on our hands we decided on a return trip to The Cage, it didn't look any fuller....

But hiding away in the corner was one new addition, a 17yo Springbank.

Signed, sealed, delivered to the men in the funny t-shirts!

Then it was off to find something to eat before our visit to Glen Scotia distillery!
