Side by side: A swoop of Macallans?

Rather than review drams by themselves I'm doing a little series comparing some 'side by side'.
There may be two or more, they may be from the same or different distilleries, similar ages, ABVs and types or not as I decide!

This time we are reviewing three different drams from the @Macallan distillery aged range, the 10yo Sherry Oak, 12yo Double Cask and 12yo Fine Oak - what differences are there?

Wemyss @TweetTastings

I was really excited to be invited to take part in @WemyssMalts @TweetTasting as it included the launch of their initial Cask Club release a 35yo Caol Ila they'd called Smoky Nectar!

I tried these as part of a #MiniTasting with John @jwbassman_ Paul @WhiskynStuff and Scott @ScotchB78 so I've added their opinions too!

Spirit of Speyside - What's it all about?

OK, I'll hold my hand up, I'm excited! In less than 3 months I'll be heading up to Speyside for the first time to visit the Spirit Of Speyside festival. First time you say? Yes my first time - previous whisky trips have got me as far as Campbeltown, Arran, Alexandria, Crieff, Glasgow and Pitlochry but the furthest North I've reached is Dalwhinnie. This time we'll go a 'little' further up the A9 and reach Speyside!

Drinking with a mate 200 miles away! GlenDronach 1995

Thanks to the generosity of a mutual friend, two mates living 200 miles apart sat at the same time looking at the same sample bottles thinking should I give this a try tonight?

A chance discussion on Twitter and John and I decided to have a dram together, an impromptu tasting then took place!

Side by side: Laphroaig's 18yo & replacement?

Rather than review drams by themselves I'm doing a little series comparing some 'side by side'.
There may be two or more, they may be from the same or different distilleries, similar ages, ABVs and types or not as I decide!

This time we are reviewing two drams from @Laphroaig, the discontinued 18yo and it's 'replacement' the NAS Lore.
