#BlindTasting Series 4 - Part 2

After a really interesting Series 4 Part 1 the #BlindTasting gang were ready for some new surprises!

This is the 2nd part of our 4th series of #BlindTasting. We've each send the others 3 #dramples, mine are labelled A10, A11 & A12, John's B, Alistair's C, Grimm's D & Mike's E. Tonight we'll #BlindTasting the number 11's : 🥃A11, 🥃B11, 🥃C11, 🥃D11 & 🥃E11 but what are they?

As usual our individual dram shots!

My drams

Grimm's drams

Alistair's Dramms

John's drams

First up was my A1

An early region guess from Grimm - and he was right!

As with most of our Blind tasting drams I try to select dram's I've not had before - makes an interesting first try on the evening!

Beginning to think Alistair is a closet cider drinker.....

Mike spot on with the ABV!

And John got the distillery but for some reason I missed his tweet on the night!

The guesses started....

And Mike got it - spot on!

So A1 was Bruichladdich's The Classic Laddie - an unpeated Islay single malt!

I had to apologise to John!

Next up John had a little surprise lined up for us with B11

Everyone was getting toffee....

Whilst we were all talking about ABV, Mike was off on a Geography trip!

John out him right!

Alistair went for the water....

John put us right on the reason for the strength

Mike was close with the company

So we all jumped on the Campbeltown bandwagon...

Google was getting confused too!

But we were all wrong....

But I got the meaning of John's 'Close' clue!

John's B11 was a Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single cask!

We had all been invited up to visit the distillery a few weeks earlier and were going the following week. You can read all about our trip here!

All of us that was except Grimm unfortunately....

So next up was Alistair with C11....

The Grimm decided to record a video just to show that we were BlindTasting live!

There was some disappointment as he'd suggesting he was BlindTasting naked.....

We started the guessing...

There was a definite chocolate orange note coming through....

Then we started down a rabbit hole...

C11 was Tormore's 16yo...

Next up was Grimm's D11, but was he still naked?

Was Mike giving us a hint for his E11 later???

Back down the rabbit hole!!!!!

I'm not sure if Alistair was BlindTasting whisky or chocolate!

And so the guesses started...

Grimm was trying to confuse us - redrawing the SWA Region lines?

With such a strange ABV, Alistair was straight on it!

D11 was Tobermory's 10yo

Final dram of the evening was Mike's E11...

Mike had recently come back from a charity run in the States - was this something he'd brought back?

Maybe not, but with all the strange Japanese he had been tweeting maybe it was from there?

But no, it was a bourbon!

John was straight in with a guess!

Mike started on the questions...

Higher? Lower?

Being the last of the evening we were all struggling a bit!

So E11 turned out to be BuffaloTrace's Eagle Rare

Another fantastic evening of BlindTasting!

Many thanks to Mike, John, Alistair and Grimm!
