#BlindTasting Series 2 - part 1

It's always hard for a band to come up with a good second album and the #BlindTasting team thought long and hard about what to do for the second series..... in the end we decided to change nothing and just do the same thing again, it worked really well - why change it?

So during November we each bottled up 5 sets of 3 #damples and posted them out to each other this time labelled A4,5,6, B4,5,6, C4,5,6, D4,5,6 and E4,5,6

There was some concern about whether the SWA would class the 'water' in #damples D4 and E4 as whisky - but we decided to persevere....

The Royal Mail decided to play fair this time round and we all received out bottles in plenty of time!

The first night's tasting consisted of the number four bottles A4 from @MaltMusings, B4 from @JWBassman_, C4 from @Spirit&Wood, D4 from @GentlemanGrimm and E4 from @WhiskyWings but not before we'd all had a go at our best photography!

First up then was A4 from me - a beautifully pink coloured dram...

Wings was quickly on to it linking the peat smoke straight to Islay.... and Alistair was close behind.... had I been found out straight away?

Then John thought he had it....

Wings again showed his extensive knowledge of world whisky!

John finally got the distillery...

So A4 was @GlenMorayDist's Distillery Exclusive Peated Port 6yo

Next up was B4 from John...

Nuts you say?

and spices...

Was it a 'finished' dram?

John put us right!

B4 was @anCnoc's 2000

Third dram of the night was C4 from Alistair...

We were really struggling with this one...

 Then the wild guesses started....

 Alistair tried to guide us...

Then came a clue?

And finally the big clue...

C4 was revealed to be @LakesDistillery's PX Finished The One

Next up was D4 from Grimm which looked very pale...

Then the Geography lesson began...

We finally narrowed it down.. (more like got told!)

Our fourth dram was The English Whisky Co.'s Chapter 14

Then on to the final dram of the night, another pale one, from Wings...

But no Geography lesson required...

Great looking whisky in the glass...

John had this one in the bag!

So the final dram of the evening was @Laphroaig 2017 Cairdeas

Thanks for a great night gents - look forward to Series 2 Part 2 next week!
