Aerstone @TweetTastings

When @TheWhiskyWire announced an @AerstoneWhisky @TweetTastings I didn't bother applying - not because I didn't fancy trying the whiskies but because I had full size bottles of each already! I'll start this review by saying if you haven't - go and get a pair - they are currently Tesco exclusive and normally retail at £30 each but you can regularly get them on offer for £20.

There are two 10yo drams from Aerstone named simply Sea Cask and Land Cask. The packaging is really nice with wrap-around pictures joining across the boxes showing the sea and land.

Side by side: Kingsbarns and Cotswolds Initial Releases

A number of new distilleries have come on stream over the last few years - some with lots of publicity and some with hardly any. I've talked about some of them in my Newer Distilleries series, the latest of which talked about Kingsbarns. Well today I'm going to compare the standard 3 year old releases of two of them Kingsbarns and Cotswolds.

A recent sample swap with my ex-mate Paul @WhiskynStuff (now definitely removed from the Christmas Card list) came with a dram labelled "Don't worry about what it is - 40%"

Always up for a challenge - and for trying new whiskies - I thought I'd give it a go. Some initial enquiries assured me it was a real whisky, available to buy and only 40% ABV.
