#MiniTasting with a Super-Secret Mystery dram!

A normal run of the mill drample swap resulting in an unidentified bottle being delivered, discussions ensued and it turned out the @WhiskynStuff had sent this dram to a few of his recent drample swapers. An idea was hatched do do a simultaneous tasting and thus #MiniTasting was organised. 'Organised' might not be the right word.... thrown together might be better! We only sorted out the sample order 5 minutes before the start!.

Three Blind Mice?

OK they're not mice they're drams, three blind samples I received from @WhiskyPilgrim as part of a recent sample swap.
Now, knowing Adam's love of bourbon, I'd suggest from the colours that 1 and 3 may be from the other side of the pond, but 2 looks decidedly Islay...
Let see if we can work them out!

#BlindTasting Series 5 - Part 2

Series 5 Part 2

After a short break over Christmas the team have swapped more drams and tonight we need to try and work out what they are, but more importantly tell us what we think of them without knowing where they are from. #NoPreconceivedIdeas! If you haven't followed us before you can catch up with all the previous series here.

Side by side : Glenfarclas

Rather than review drams by themselves I'm doing a little series comparing some 'side by side'.
There may be two or more, they may be from the same or different distilleries, similar ages, ABVs and types or not as I decide!

This time we are reviewing four drams from @Glenfarclas, the 12yo, 15yo, 21yo and 25yo, let's compare and contrast!

Side by side: The Legends of Speyside trilogy

Rather than review drams by themselves I'm doing a little series comparing some 'side by side'.
There may be two or more, they may be from the same or different distilleries, similar ages, ABVs and types or not as I decide!

This time we are reviewing three different drams which make up the Legends Of Speyside Trilogy from @Glenfarclas - what difference is there?

#FanBoy alert - Bain's 15yo

OK - hands up I admit it, I'm a huge #FanBoy when it comes to Bain's Single Grain Whisky! It's one of only a handful of drams which I've bought more than one bottle of (so much whisky - so little time - so I don't buy multiples unless they really stand out). It made my top-ten list of favourite whiskies of 2017!

Side by side: Laphroaig 10yo 2004 v 2018

Rather than review drams by themselves I'm doing a little series comparing some 'side by side'.
There may be two or more, they may be from the same or different distilleries, similar ages, ABVs and types or not as I decide!

This time we are reviewing @Laphroaig's 10yo, a bottle from 2018 v a bottle from 2004, what's changed in 14 years? Well all they have done is add a few things : more water, some colour and chill filtering - lets see what difference it makes?

500 up - something special from Japan

Well according to my geeky spreadsheet this is the 500th dram I've tried and so I've picked something a little special.

It's actually a sample swap from Stuart at @ThisIsMyDram, he picked up a bottle on a recent trip to the distillery!

Side by side: Aberlour 12yo & 16yo

Rather than review drams by themselves I'm doing a little series comparing some 'side by side'.
There may be two or more, they may be from the same or different distilleries, similar ages, ABVs and types or not as I decide!

This time we are reviewing two drams from @AberlourVC distillery, their 12yo and 16yo, what difference does the extra 4 years give us?

Side by side: A trio from Caol Ila!

Rather than review drams by themselves I'm doing a little series comparing some 'side by side'.
There may be two or more, they may be from the same or different distilleries, similar ages, ABVs and types or not as I decide!

This time we are reviewing three different drams from Caol Ila distillery, a young one from Morrison & MacKay, a distillery bottling matured in a Moscatel cask and a Berry Bros & Rudd bottling, what difference is there?
